The first two weeks
You benefit from an induction session and training to familiarize you with :

YOU CAN MEET YOUR COLLEAGUES AT OUR THREE BUSINESS LOCATIONS.
When you move into a new environment, it’s normal to have a lot of questions. For this reason, you’ll be assigned a coach to support you in your career development at DB. Plus, you’ll have a dedicated consultant (a buddy!) who’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have! His role is to support you through the challenges and stresses of an internship, because he’s been there too.
YOUR COACH
This person supports you as you progress in your career, and throughout your time at DB, he or she is your mentor.
YOUR BUDDY
This person has just gone through the same stages as you, the same trials and tribulations and the stress that comes with starting a training course. This person is your everyday moral support. It’s your ally when it comes to asking silly questions (even if there are no silly questions). Where to park, how to get there, where, when and with whom to eat? Or if you just want to ventilate, that’s what your buddy is for.
The following weeks and months
THE MORE THE WEEKS GO BY, THE MORE YOU GAIN CONFIDENCE AND MASTER OUR WORKING METHODS.
You are now ready to carry out certification mandates at clients' premises, accompanied by one of our case managers and other interns depending on the nature of the mandate.
This gives you the opportunity to participate in all stages of a mandate. An audit mandate usually lasts from 2 to 3 weeks.
EFC preparation
The CFE is undoubtedly a demanding and stressful experience for most aspiring CPAs. We are aware of this and are committed to preparing you well through simulations, follow-up, and workshops on writing techniques, among other things.
Each year, we form an EFC Coaching Committee. This committee is strictly composed of coaches who have recently passed the CFE. Each CFE candidate is paired with a coach of their choice who will motivate them, share their experience and provide sound advice. In addition, your coach will ask you several questions similar to those asked during the CFE and will quickly correct your answers.
Demers Beaulne has an impressive success rate at the EFC every year!
Why internship
at DB?
Our internships are open-ended. When you start at DB, it's because we see you going places. We're already aiming for career progression for you, nothing less.
Once you pass the CFE (you're sure to pass with our incredible coaching program), you'll be entitled to all our benefits.
Grants
- To reward your hard work, when you finish your BAC with a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher, you are eligible for a $3,000 grant!
Reimbursement of tuition fees and EFC
- For all courses successfully completed at the D.E.S.S., we will refund the full tuition.
- When you pass your EFC, DB also reimburses the full cost of the exam.
Support in your success at school and in your career
- Coaching for CFE, support coach, mentor, buddy.
- Entitlement to study leave.
- Work four days a week for six months, to focus on your success.
Ambassadors
AGREEING TO BECOME AN AMBASSADOR MEANS:
- Represent DB on your campus.
- Get a great kit to dress and accessorize yourself.
- Have the opportunity to offer your team coffee from DB (or a ride home after a 4@7).
- Participate in events.
