  • U.S. corporate tax planning (expansion of Canadian companies in the U.S., investment structuring, financing of operations, repatriation of surpluses, acquisitions of U.S. entities, etc.).
  • U.S. federal and state tax analysis
  • Review, supervision and coordination of U.S. tax returns
  • Knowledge of Earnings and Profits calculations for U.S. purposes
  • Advising Canadian companies on Canada-U.S. cross-border tax issues
  • Assistance with transactional mandates involving Canadian companies wishing to invest in the United States and American companies wishing to invest in Canada
  • IRS and US state tax audits
  • U.S. tax planning for individuals (leaving Canada, returning to Canada, expatriation, U.S. citizens, etc.)
  • Review, supervision and coordination of U.S. tax returns
  • Knowledge of calculations for Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, etc.)
  • Acquisition/disposition of U.S. real estate by Canadians and investment structuring
  • Supervising a team
  • CPA title
  • U.S. Tax Manager 4 to 6 years of relevant experience / Senior U.S. Tax Manager 7 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills in French and English (oral and written)
  • Excellent command of tax research tools and application software
  • Thoroughness, a dedicated team player, a collaborative approach and a desire to deliver an optimal customer experience are essential qualities for success in this position.
