Your expertise will be regularly called upon by the U.S. tax team, as well as by other tax departments and internal services, in order to provide our customers with the best possible advice. With your professional development at heart, and always with the aim of offering the best expertise to our customers, a highly stimulating training program is offered.

Corporations – Tax returns

  • Preparation of U.S. tax returns 1120, 5472, etc. (Canadian, U.S. and foreign companies);
  • Analysis of financial statements and audit files to identify accounting transactions with tax implications;
  • US federal and state tax analysis;
  • IRS and state tax audits.

Individuals – Tax returns

  • Preparation of US tax returns 1040, 1116, 2555, 5471, 8833, FBAR, etc. (US citizens and expatriate individuals);
  • Preparation of US tax returns for non-residents of the USA 1040-NR, 8833, 8840, etc. (non-residents);
  • Tax planning for expatriates (leaving Canada / returning to Canada);
  • Tax planning by Canadians owning real estate in the U.S;
  • IRS and state tax audits.

Other duties and functions

  • Reading and analysis of US tax form instructions;
  • Information requests and follow-up with customers;
  • Government follow-up for the U.S. (notices of assessment, objections, letters, etc.);
  • U.S. tax research (corporate and individual);
  • Research into international tax treaties;
  • Preparation of tax memos on research findings.
  • CPA designation (or in process of obtaining);
  • International tax” / APFF continuing education course (an asset);
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in an accounting firm (tax or assurance) for an analyst position and a minimum of 3 years’ experience for an advisor position;
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written);
  • Results-oriented and dedicated team player;
