A survey on the role of innovation in the biobased economy in Quebec was carried out jointly with Groupe AGÉCO. The main objective of this request from the Consortium de recherche et innovations en bioprocédés industriels du Québec(CRIBIQ) was to understand the needs of CRIBIQ’s industrial members in terms of innovation related to the biobased economy in the post-pandemic period.
Survey on innovation in the biobased economy
More than twenty in-depth interviews were conducted with members of CRIBIQ and other stakeholders from the industry ecosystem and research centers. Among other things, this approach enabled us to cover a number of topics, including their activities, attitudes and intentions towards innovation and R&D, their needs for innovation support to achieve their objectives, the impact of the pandemic on R&D activities, their research partnerships, and their perception of the challenges and issues facing companies in relation to R&D and innovation.
There is a clear need to improve the culture of innovation within companies in the biobased economy, so that they can seize the opportunities of the new green economy. Find out more by reading the full report.
